10 things to know about Elder Clarke

Elder Don R. Clarke is an emeritus General Authority and director of Church Hosting. Elder Clarke will be speaking at devotional this week. Here are 10 things you should know before you attend:

  1. He was born in Rexburg, Idaho, on December 11, 1945.
  2. He served a full-time mission in Argentina.
  3. He earned his associate’s degree from Ricks College and a bachelor’s degree in business from BYU.
  4. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from Washington State University.
  5. He married Mary Anne Jackson in 1970.
  6. He was the mission president of the Bolivia Santa Cruz Mission from 2001-2004.
  7. He was called as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy on April 1, 2006, and then sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy on April 2, 2011.
  8. He has served as both a counselor and president of the Central America Area.
  9. He has served as a stake president, assistant director of Church Hosting, high councilor, bishop, stake young men president and elders quorum president
  10. He and his wife have six children.
