10 things to know about Sister Couliard

Sister Gwenaelle Couliard has been a counselor at BYU-Idaho since 2005. She will be speaking at devotional this week. Here are ten things to know about Sister Couliard before attending devotional:

  1. She grew up in Rennes, France.
  2. At the age of 16, she was baptized with her older sister, and two years after, her mother joined the Church.
  3. She holds degrees in consumer science with an emphasis in social work, psychology and marriage and family therapy.
  4. She graduated with her Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy from BYU in 1990.
  5. She is currently serving as the Young Women’s president in the Rexburg 8th Ward.
  6. She has been a primary teacher, a Relief Society president, counselor, teacher and gospel doctrine instructor.
  7. She served a full-time mission in the Washington Seattle Mission.
  8. She enjoys traveling abroad. She worked as a volunteer in orphanages in Cuenca, Ecuador last year.
  9. She also finds fulfillment in being a daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend.
  10. Her dream is to one day live in a warm climate with lots of sunshine all year long.
