10 things to know about Bishop Caussé

Bishop Gérald Caussé was named as Presiding Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on October 9, 2015, and he will be speaking in devotional this week. Here are 10 things you need to know about Bishop Caussé before you attend:

  1. Before Bishop Caussé became the Presiding Bishop, he served as the first counselor in the presiding bishopric since March 2012.
  2. Bishop Caussé has served as a General Authority Seventy.
  3. He was a counselor in the Europe Area Presidency.
  4. He has served in a variety of church callings, such as elders quorum president, bishop’s counselor, stake president’s counselor, and stake president.
  5. He was born in Bordeaux, France.
  6. He is the third presiding bishop who has been born outside the United States.
  7. Bishop Caussé and his wife, Valérie, have five children.
  8. In 1987, he earned his master’s degree in business.
  9. In his career, he has worked closely with the food industry where he has worked with supermarket chains and food distribution companies.
  10. He was the general manager of Pomona, a food distribution company in France.
