Police seek person of interest in Rexburg theft

Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who may be responsible for using stolen credit cards at several local businesses, according to EastIdahoNews.com.

Rexburg police detectives say a wallet was stolen from the Hart gym at Brigham Young University-Idaho on Oct. 2 between 2:20 and 3:00 p.m. The man, shown in surveillance camera images, is considered a “person of interest” in the case.

Investigators tell EastIdahoNews.com the thief used credit cards from the wallet at Broulim’s, Walmart and Jamba Juice during the month of October.

“Photos from surveillance cameras all appear to be the same individual at the location of the theft and the business’s where the credit cards were used,” Capt. Randy Lewis of the Rexburg Police Department told EastIdahoNews.com.

If you recognize the person in the surveillance images, police ask you to call 208-359-3008 or leave a tip here.

Those headphones seem to be an Audio Technica M series, likely M50 model. There are only a few handfuls of people who own those in Rexburg.
