Two bombs exploded Monday in Boston, Mass. as runners crossed the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
Police have reported three deaths, including that of an 8-year-old boy, and over 144 injured.
According to the Associated Press, a senior U.S. intelligence official said two other explosive devices were found near the end of the 26.2-mile course. Six explosive devices in Boston have been identified so far.
The twin blasts at the race took place almost simultaneously and about 100 yards apart, tearing limbs off numerous people, knocking spectators and at least one runner off their feet, shattering windows and sending smoke rising over the street, according to the article.
At the White House, President Obama said those responsible for the attack would “feel the full weight of justice.”
“We still don’t know who did this or why,” Obama said. “Make no mistake: We will get to the bottom of this.”
