Over the weekend, The Rexburg Rapids Waterpark held a job fair for future summer-working lifeguards and swim instructors looking for employment.
“People come they bring resumes; they fill applications, in essence to get-receive a job,” said Courtney Gopp, a freshman at BYU-Idaho.
About 120 people filled out job applications, but only fifty will be able to receive a position at Rexburg Rapids.
“We are very excited this turn out has been amazing this turn our has been amazing its great to see that we’re going to have so many people willing and able to work with us,” said Jori Neibaur the Manager for Rexburg Rapids.
Job seekers like Dvon Smith and Ashlee Butikofer showed excitement.
“I really like the job fair and I think it’s a good way to get people to come out,” said Dvon Smith, a Freshman at BYU-Idaho.
“You know its nice that we have opportunities there people here that know what they’re doing and they’re willing to help us and arrange interviews and applications, so I really appreciate that. I wish that we did more stuff like that,” said Ashlee Butikofer a Junior in High School.
There is still a lot of people who don’t know about this park.
Well were wanting to get ourselves out there a lot of people still don’t know about us so we want them to um see us and be willing to come back years to come,” said Neibaur.
There is no doubt that Rexburg Rapids will be a hot spot this year. The people will be notified about their job before the park opens in June.
