UPDATE 7/17/13:

This is a Madison County case and was a car stop in the Normandy apartments parking lot. 31-year-old woman driving vehicle was driving with a suspended license.

Just yesterday on 7/16/13, her 4 children ages 11, 10, 6, and 1 were taken into welfare protection. The woman and her children had been living out of her car. The children were taken to Health and welfare.

At about 6:20 p.m. on Monday July 15th, there were 3 Rexburg Police department cars at Normandy Apartments.

A middle-aged woman appeared to be in handcuffs for about 20 minutes and an officer took them off of her shortly thereafter, while she made some phone calls.

Eyewitnesses say they saw a prescription bottle in a policeman’s hand earlier. They are unsure what happened.

We will date you with any further information that we get.
