Every year this broadcast is given to the women of the church. This year’s conference gave sisters another chance to hear the guiding words from our Heavenly Father. Each talk was given through inspiration from the spirit. Here are some things you may have missed.
1. God loves you
“I appeal to each of you to put yourself in a place where you can feel the generous love God has for you,” said Sister Sharon Eubank, First Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency.
Heavenly Father loves all his children including his daughters. He wants all his children to come back to him. Through is love sisters of this church and grow closer to the spirit.
2. Serve others
Sister Neill F. Marriott, second counselor of the General Young Women’s presidency reminded sisters about the importance of serving even when it’s difficult. Service can bring you closer to the people around you as well as bring you closer to your Heavenly Father. Through Service we can show Gods love for all his children.
“He wants us to change our selfishness into service, our fears into faith,” Marriott said. “These lasting matters can test us to our core. It is now, with our mortal limitations, that the Father asks us to love when loving is most difficult, to serve when serving is inconvenient, to forgive when forgiving is soul stretching.”
3. Remember your divine identity
Sister Joy D. Jones, Primary General President reminded sisters that Gods daughters are special. Each sister has divine qualities that can bring you closer to Him.
“Let’s not be confused about who we are,” Sister Jones said. “While it is often easier to be spiritually passive than it is to put forth the spiritual effort to remember and embrace our divine identity, we cannot afford that indulgence in these latter days.”
4. Be happy
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the First Presidency spoke of remaining glad. Even through hard times God gives things to be thankful for as long as you notice them. By doing so you can become a beacon of light.
“I pray that you will choose to lift up your voice and make your life a glorious symphony of praise, rejoicing in what the love of God, the wonders of His Church, and the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring to the world,” President Uchtdorf said.
5. Hold fast to the rod
“If you are troubled by unanswered questions or doctrines you don’t understand yet; if you feel saddened because of disappointments, I urge you to remember Lehi’s dream,” President Uchtdorf said. “Stay on the path! Never let go of the rod of iron — the word of God! And when anyone tries to make you ashamed for partaking of the love of God, ignore them. Never forget, you are a child of God.”
God wants you to hold fast to the rod and be not ashamed. By holding fast, you can be a standing example to those around you and encourage others to do the same.
6. You can be clean
“This living water will begin to fill us, and brimming with His love, we can tip the pitcher of our soul and share its contents with others who thirst for healing, hope and belonging,” Sister Marriott said. “As our inner vessel comes clean, our earthly relationships begin to heal.”
She spoke of how through Christ we can be clean and share His love with others. By letting Christ fill you with purity you can share his love to those around you and be a light for others.
