Boston Marathon bombing suspect dies in shootout

UPDATE– 7A.M. Currently all taxi and public transportation has been suspended until further notice. A number of schools have been closed until further notice, including Harvard, MIT, Emerson, Suffolk, Tufts/Boston-Medford, UMASS Boston and many more.

The entire town of Watertown and surrounding neighborhoods are in lockdown as well. 

Two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing fought with Massachusetts police Thursday evening leaving one suspect dead and one at large.  Police pursued suspects shortly after they shot and killed a police officer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology early Thursday evening.

Police report that the suspects used explosive devices during the shootout with the police in Watertown, Mass., which left one MBTA transit officer injured and in critical condition at Mt. Auburn hospital.
