Breakdancer gives back to community

Each Friday Brenton Winburn, a senior studying business marketing, teaches the breakdance clinic in the John W. Hart Building.

He said he has been breakdancing for four years and has performed on stage with a breakdance and hip-hop group known as Bang-a-rang.

Winburn said he tries to help the sport grow locally through the weekly class and by reaching out to the community.

Winburn’s weekly clinic helps other learn basic footwork and what breakers call power moves. Winburn said Susan G. Komen of Idaho is working with him on hosting a fundraiser in Idaho Falls where breakdancers will compete.

Winburn said the proceeds for the event will go to Susan G. Komen of Idaho to find a cure for cancer and promote local awareness.
