The fire alarms went off in the David O. McKay Library at around 8 p.m. Jan. 21.
“We were studying, heard the fire alarm, got up and came out of the building,” said Adam Pence, a junior studying health science.
“Both times I went to the math time today, conveniently the fire alarm went off both times,” said Mackenzie Hatch, a freshman studying business. “I came back, and they went off again.”
Claire Hinckley, a senior majoring in marriage and family studies, said she was at the library both times the fire alarm went off.
“I think those who were here before moved out quicker than before,” Hinckley said.
Hinckley said she left her things in the library the second time the alarms went off.
“It’s really interesting that people don’t get up and move when things like this happen,” Pence said. “If the actual event were to happen, we need to make sure we’re ready to act.”
