BYU-I student killed in accident

McNeil Walker, a 21-year-old student at BYU-Idaho and a recently returned missionary, was killed Wednesday afternoon in an accident involving a semi-truck and a tractor, according to East Idaho News.

“Idaho State Police confirm McNeil Walker was driving a tractor on Interstate 15 at milepost 140 north of Roberts when a tractor-trailer, being driven by William Gago, 23, of Worth, Florida, hit the tractor,” according to East Idaho News.

The police said that after the vehicles collided both rolled into the median. Walker was killed on the scene. Gago was not injured.

The police said Walker was wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.

One lane continues to be blocked off on the northbound and southbound side of the Interstate while crews investigate the scene.

So heartbreaking! My thoughts and prayers are definitely with his family in this troubling time! Families really are eternal – hang in there!
