Hillary Clinton’s chief campaign strategist, Joel Benenson, shared topics likely to be mentioned in the Democratic nominee’s acceptance speech Thursday night.
“I think Hillary Clinton, tonight, is going to talk about our country facing a moment of reckoning,” Benenson said. “What path are we going to go down? Are we going to be a country that continues to believe that we are stronger together and act that way? and that when we do things together we are stronger?”
Benenson said the working theme of Clinton’s campaign has been “Stronger Together.”
“That’s not just an organizing principle for what we do in our families and in our lives and in our communities,” Benenson said. “It’s an organizing principle for the country and it goes to the history of the country.”
Benenson recounted how the founding fathers of America had different opinions regarding major issues at the time and said that Clinton will probably bring this topic up in her acceptance speech.
“During that period they found a way to work to what their common ground was and create what was a small little country but has grown into being the greatest country on earth, and still is,” he said. “I think we are the party that believes in that.”
