Deciding when to have children

In 2013, the age of women having their first child was at a record high at the age of 26 years old, according to a study done by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Over the past years, there has been an increase in the average age of when mothers start to have children. In 1980, the average age was around 22 years old, and since then, it has jumped to late 20s.

But what is the right age to start having kids? This is a question that has been going through the minds of women for years.

A husband and wife have the opportunity and privilege to bring children into this world, and when to have children is a decision between them and God.

Deciding when to have children can be a big responsibility, and trying to make that decision alone can be very difficult.

That decision is not on the heads of family or friends of the couple trying to decide when would be a good time to start having kids. That is really none of their business. There are different reasons for everyone for when they want to start having kids.

Some people think you should start right away once you are married, and some think you should start many years after you’re married. What is the right answer? There is none. The right answer is between a husband and wife and God.

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have gained a very close relationship with my Heavenly Father over time, and as someone who is married, I think that decision to have children is up to the couple and our Heavenly Father.

Yes, there are those who believe that once you are married, you need to start having children right away and not use contraceptives, but what about those who are struggling to survive or make ends meet?

I do have a strong belief that God will provide a way. My parents had me immediately after they were married, and they didn’t have very much. God guided them through all those hard times.

I also believe that if a couple thinks that they should wait and they have honestly prayed about it and felt that now is not the time, then that is up to them and God.

There are many others who have their own opinion on when to have children or how many they should even have. That is none of anyone else’s business besides the couple themselves. The decision they make is between them and through the guidance of our Father in Heaven.

Today, people are full of advice on how others should raise their children or even when to have children. That is not really up to them. What goes on in the home and between a husband and wife is between them.

Deciding when to have children is up to the couple and not your opinion.
