Elder L. Tom Perry, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, continues to decline in health as his cancer spreads, according to Deseret News.
The 92-year-old apostle was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in April, and it has spread to his lungs, according to Deseret News.
Elder Perry will stay at home and not attend any further meetings, and he will receive hospice care starting in a few days, according to the Mormon Newsroom website.
Members of the Quorum of the Twelve, the First Presidency and Elder Perry’s family have been visiting him, according to Mormon Newsroom.
Elder Perry asked the Church to share his gratitude for friends’ and Church members’ prayers and kindness already extended to him, according to Mormon Newsroom.
