BYU-Idaho is home to the up and coming band, The Clay Temples. The band members meet every Tuesday and Thursday at the Snow building to practice for their local gigs.

Chris Blodgett, a senior studying English, is not only the head singer of the band, but he is also a strong Latter-day Saint. For Chris, singing has always been a part of his life.

“Ever since I was a little kid I just saying a lot because my family’s pretty musical and my parents tell me that when I was a little kid I used to just like sit in the corner and scream at the top of my lungs, ‘Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat’,” said Blodgett.

Being in this band and having a strong faith in Christ is what has kept them together.

“Since we’re all kind of centered in the gospel it makes getting a long a lot better, you know. It hasn’t made it worse or I wouldn’t be doing it,” said Blodgett.

“He always tries to put God first in everything that he does and he makes it like a priority to read his scriptures every single day and I think that really helps him to have the spirit with him all the time,” said Jess Nelson a sophomore.
