First Presidency announces rising statistics within the Church

SALT LAKE CITY — The statistical report for 2015 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was announced on Saturday, April 2, at the Saturday Afternoon session of general conference.

Brother Brook P. Hales, Secretary of the First Presidency  announced that there are 3,174 stakes, 418 missions, 558 districts and 30,016 wards and branches, according to Mormon Newsroom.

They also announced that as of Dec. 31, 2015, the total membership is 15,634,199, with 114,550 new children on record and 257,402 converts baptized.

They announced that there are 74,079 full time missionaries serving, and 31,779 church-service missionaries.

Finally, five temples were dedicated, two temples were rededicated and 149 temples are currently in operation.
