Saturday evening, Gentri, the gentleman’s trio, came to perform at Brigham Young University Idaho, as students, faculty, and members of the community gathered in the Kirkham Auditorium.
The trio performed original songs as well as covers of songs by other artists.
The upcoming trio mentioned the obstacle that not many people know about them yet.
Kate West, a junior at BYU-I told us about her experience discovering Gentri.
“I had a great time at the Gentri concert,” said West. “Before this concert I had never heard of them but I love the way that they sound. They have amazing voices. They completely exceeded my expectations and they were great performers. They put on an awesome show and I think everyone in the audience felt really connected to their music and enjoyed what they were hearing.”
The group was very interactive with the audience. They shared personal stories and a little about themselves. They also went into the audience and did song requests.
One special moment was when the trio asked members of the audience who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces to stand and be recognized for their service to our country. They then followed with a patriotic Medley Tribute.
Taylor Rogers, a junior at BYU-I told us her reaction.
“My favorite song was probably the patriotic medley, it really touched my heart and I started to cry,” Rogers said. “That’s because I’m a big baby.”
Gentri received two standing ovations. After the show, they continued to interact with fans by taking pictures and signing autographs.
