The revelation of the priesthood will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said the celebration will be held in Salt Lake City, on June 1 at 7 p.m., according to Mormon Newsroom.

The priesthood is a power and authority of God delegated to the worthy man on earth, according to LDS.org.

According to Mormon Newsroom, in 1978, “President Spencer W. Kimball announced that the blessings of the priesthood would be extended to all of God’s children everywhere in the world.”

The revelation is given to President Kimball that removed all restrictions on certain race holding the priesthood, according to the LDS.org.

The Conference Center on Temple Square will broadcast the celebration. More details will be released in the future.
