Local business hit by truck

Quick Ship N’ Copy, a local family-owned business, lost half of its front window last night when a truck accidentally backed through it.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. last night, according to eastidahonews.com.

Captain Randy Lewis, of the Rexburg police department, said in a statement to eastidahonews.com that the owner of the truck was a BYU-Idaho student from Oregon.

“He exited his truck but inadvertently left it in reverse,” Lewis said. “The truck took off through the parking lot and crashed into Quick Ship N’ Copy.”

Heather Metcalf, an employee of Quick Ship N’ Copy, said luckily no one was hurt.

“We sometimes have people here well past 9 p.m.,” Metcalf said.

Metcalf said she was not in the shop to witness the accident, but said she got a call from her dad asking her to come in and help clean up.

“I was here from 10:30 p.m. to about 2 a.m. cleaning up,” Metcalf said.
