Antonio Hennix, of Georgia, was arrested Wednesday March 2 for a felony battery of a Rexburg police officer and a misdemeanor resisting arrest.

Hennix was recently released from the Maddison County Jail on drug charges when the altercation with the police took place at his BYU-Idaho student apartment complex, according to East Idaho News.

Rexburg Police Captain, Randy Lewis, said Hennix returned to his apartment to collect his things and the apartment manager asked for Police to be present to keep the peace, according to East Idaho News.

Hennix allowed the police into his apartment and put a Taser on the table. In response, one of the officers told Hennix they would hold the Taser until he left the property and that is when the altercation took place, according to the report given by Lewis to East Idaho News.

“The officer was not seriously hurt and Hennix was booked in the Madison County Jail,” according to East Idaho News.
