The BYU-Idaho accounting department will be hosting a Meet-the-Firms Night for all accounting majors and their spouses on Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. in the John Taylor Building Cultural Hall.

Meet-the-Firms is an annual event where accounting-majors are introduced to prospective employers. Attending the event will be representatives from 25 professional firms and companies, as well as five graduate universities, said Kevin Packard, a faculty member in the accounting department who organized the event and works with the firms.

He said students who are not currently looking for a job or internship are still encouraged to attend to begin building relationships with these companies.

Packard said students also have the opportunity to submit their resume to be put in a booklet given to firms prior to their arrival for future consideration for internships and positions.

“These firms represent the best in the accounting profession; we are fortunate that they are willing to incur significant costs and time to come to Rexburg, Idaho,” Packard said. “The best way that our accounting students can show appreciation for the time and efforts incurred on their behalf is to attend the event. Many of these firms have planned to stay on campus the next day to perform internship interviews.

All accounting majors planning to attend must RSVP with Sister Rydalch at prior to September 29th. If they would like their resume included in the booklet, they must email it to Sister Rydalch by Sept. 30th.
