Protest that leads to change: One millennial delegate’s thoughts on Democratic party

Omar Aslam, a 19-year-old delegate from Ohio, said delegates should put their pride away for a week and focus on making the democratic party strong by protesting on causes that will create change.

“What frustrates me about my party is that we split and divide too easily in ourselves and we argue too much,” Aslam said. “I would rather have us come together when it truly matters and get behind a candidate who will be solid and actually get things done.”

Because Aslam is a Bernie Sanders supporter, he is going to vote for Hillary since the democratic party is his affiliated party.

“Do I think Hillary will be looking out for me entirely? Not necessarily,” Aslam said. “But I feel like she is going to do more good than Trump will.”
