Nauvoo House and Heritage Apartments to implement Bitcoin for rent payment

Two BYU-Idaho approved housing apartment complexes have announced that residents can now pay their rent using Bitcoin.

Both Nauvoo House Apartments and Heritage Apartments in Rexburg will start accepting Bitcoin currency after EdgeCreek Property Management for BYU-I Housing approved it, according to bitcoinmagazine.com.

“Bitcoin is a form of digital currency, created and held electronically,” according to coindesk.com. “Bitcoins aren’t printed, like dollars or euros – they’re produced by people.”

BYU-I is the first university to allow approved housing to accept Bitcoin as an option for students to pay rent.

“This is a huge step forward for cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin. Although someone can pay bills with Bitcoin using services like BillPayForCoins, the recent news at BYU-Idaho will bring the ease of use and practicality of accepting Bitcoin to the forefront,” according to bitcoinmagazine.com. “This is a huge step forward for cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin.
