A BYU-Idaho IBC group, Snaps, is providing students with an opportunity to have their memories captured and printed in a timely manner.

“Every semester, BYU-I business students put together IBC groups or companies that provide a variety of benefits to BYU-I students and the Rexburg community at large,” according to the BYU-I Business Management Web page.

Ben Steward, a junior studying business management, is one of the 16 members of the Snaps team.

“Snaps started with an IBC company team of 16 people,” Steward said. “We broke up into teams of five or six. Each team came up with ideas. We took all the ideas that each group of five or six came up with and picked which one we wanted to represent.”

Steward said he believes BYU-I students are very excited about polaroid pictures, as well as getting meaningful memories printed. He said Snaps is making this possible for students in a speedy way. All Snaps does is take the customer’s phone for a couple of minutes and prints out his or her pictures on the spot.

Michael Fraser, a junior studying business management, is one of the Snaps team members one might see at   the booth.

“Snaps is a photo company that sells different types of photos, such as canvas, polaroid and accessories,” Fraser said. “We work with events, such as birthday parties, ward and stake events and rent out photo booths for the events.”

Fraser said he especially enjoys working events. He said they love watching people have a great time and then see the pictures they’ve taken in the photo booth. He loves being a part of a company that provides them with an opportunity to remember that moment for the rest of their lives.

“We have had the opportunity to work at multiple dance parties, P2B, I-Cover, married stake events and FHE group events,” Fraser said.

Fraser said because Snaps just started, it has been using a variety of advertisements that students can see around campus and at home. Snaps has been using posters, lawn signs, social media posts and even has produced some commercials to get the word out.

“Snaps will be available to BYU-Idaho students on campus Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.,” Steward said. “Most often times, Snaps’ booth is located on the second floor of the Manwaring Center near the Sky Bridge and will be until the end of the semester.”

Steward said if students would like to see the kind of work he and his team at Snaps do, they should check out the Snaps Facebook page by searching “Snaps IBC.”

“We try our best to make payment for students as easy as we can,” Steward said. “We accept payments of credit, debit, cash and check, and to reserve our photo booths, students can sign up Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and by appointment for the photo booth.”
