A group of students studying at Brigham Young University – Hawaii is creating a documentary about the global network of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They’re calling it The Mormon Connection.

“The purpose is to show the world that members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints really have a special connection to one another,” said Brandon Johnson, the leader of the group, in a KUTV report.

Using only the resources, networks and people within the LDS church, five students will travel through more than twenty countries over the span of three months. Johnson said about 100 Latter-day Saints have already reached out to help.

“We’ve had people offer us meals … places to stay,” Johnson said. “We even had people offer us tickets to Disney. We are actually going to be on the news in Denmark.”

Members of The Mormon Connection have created a Kickstarter campaign where personal biographies for all five individuals can be found.

Cody Myers, a member of the team, said in his biography that he has seen the power of the global network that exists within the Mormon church.

“It is my hope to document this interesting aspect of this unique community of people,” Myers said.

The trip will begin in Ireland June 1.
