ThePianoGuys to perform at BYU-Idaho

Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp-Nelson, who started the gro ThePianoGuys, will perform July 26 at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Kirkham Auditorium.

The concert is open to all students and community residents.

Miles Blaine, a sophomore studying communication and the student director of Center Stage, said most of their pieces will be ones they perform as ThePianoGuys, but they may also do a few solos.

“I know they both have some great solo pieces. I love the ‘Cello Wars’ Star Wars parody by Nelson,” Blaine said.

Schmidt and Sharp-Nelson will be performing their more popular hits and maybe some new material as well.

Blaine said he thinks the concert will be a mixture of both spiritual and popular hits.

“Students should expect to have fun. These guys are not only exceptional musicians, but also great stage performers. They will entertain all ages,” Blaine said. “Audience members have the opportunity to hear some very inspiring and moving music.”

Some of these include “Michael Meets Mozart,” “Cello Wars” and “Peponi” their African rendition of Coldplay’s “Paradise.”

Schmidt and Sharp-Nelson are both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Both Schmidt and Sharp-Nelson have  produced albums.
