With the closing ceremonies just a week away, here are three random facts you might not know about the Olympics.

1. From 1960 to the current year, there have been 77 Latter-day Saints competing in the Olympics. In the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Jack Yerman won the gold in track and field. In the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Dinah Browne performed in the luge.

2. This year, there are five Latter-day Saints competing in the Olympics. They range from Chris Fogt, from Alpine, Utah, to Brendan “Bubba” Newby, from Ireland and Orem, Utah, representing Ireland.

3. This year, there are five Idaho natives competing in the Olympics. They are Chase Josey from Hailey, JessiKa Jenson from Rigby, Ben Ferguson from Boise, Hilary Knight from Sun Valley and Scott Patterson from McCall.
