GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump responded to Governor Mitt Romney hours after Romney called Trump “a phony and a fraud” Thursday morning at a speech held at University of Utah.

“I heard that Mitt Romney made a fairly long speech, and honestly, I’ll just address it quickly because it’s irrelevant,” Trump said to a group of his supporters. “Mitt is a failed candidate — he failed. He failed horribly.”

Trump said the Republican Party should have won the 2012 presidential election, and he is disappointed Romney did not win because Trump is not a fan of President Barack Obama.

“I backed Mitt Romney; I backed him,” Trump said. “You can see how loyal he is. He was begging for my endorsement. I could have said ‘Mitt, drop to your knees,’ and he would have dropped to his knees.”
