Wikipedia Blackout

Rexburg ID, The internet protest of SOPA or the stop online Piracy act helped to raise awareness around the country of the bill that US lawmakers are reviewing. Reporter Ryan Rasmussen finds out how students at BYU-Idaho are impacted by the Wikipedia blackout.

    I side with technology, not media. I believe piracy is wrong, but I’ve seen what the media stars have done with my money (e.g. drugs, alcohol, illicit activities, etc.).

    I think the blackout was a good statement from most of the online organizations that participated, but the one that had the greatest impact for students was, by far, Wikipedia. I particularly enjoyed that they invited everyone to get involved by reaching out to there local representative.
