Students seeking adventure outside campus this June are invited to connect with a group through Craters of the Moon National Monument during the height of wildflower bloom.
This trip is organized by Campus Recreation and will take place on Saturday, June 21.
Students wanting to participate will meet at the Outdoor Hub at 7 a.m. The event will run until 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the University Store Ticket office.
Tickets are $20 per person at the Ticket Office.

The idea for the hike came from a family recommendation to one of the event organizers, an advisor with Campus Recreation, who saw the opportunity for students to participate in something new.
"I'm always looking for things for students to be involved in outside," said Morris Christensen, a school advisor. "Craters of the Moon is a pretty unique place, but a lot of students have never been. We want to help them experience it while they're here."
Located about an hour and a half west of Rexburg, Craters of the Moon is known for its dramatic volcanic terrain and vibrant fields of wildflowers that bloom across the lava beds.
While the hike is open to all skill levels, students are encouraged to come prepared.
"It's dry and exposed out there," Christensen said. "We recommend bringing plenty of water, wearing good footwear and dressing for the weather."
The hike will be led by trip managers from the Outdoor Hub, and while the lunch plans are still being established, the group will most likely be eating together after exploring the park in the cooler morning hours.
This hike is part of a broad effort by Campus Recreation to encourage students to explore the natural wonders surrounding Rexburg.
"Too many students spend their time sitting in their apartments, saying there's nothing really to do in Rexburg," Christensen said. "But within a three-hour radius, there's more to explore than you could ever fit into your college years. These kinds of activities can really enhance a student's experience — mentally, physically and socially."
