Advertise to BYU-Idaho Students with Scroll

Scroll is a pillar in the Rexburg community, serving as a leading news source for countless BYU-Idaho students and community members.

Why does Scroll run advertisements?

Scroll places advertisements to serve several purposes. First, it gives us an opportunity to partner with local businesses and get their advertisements in front of high-intent audiences at an affordable rate. Second, it brings in funding, which we reinvest back into our program. Advertising revenue is spent to cover our newspaper printing, website maintenance costs and support travel opportunities for our student reporters.

Why should I advertise with Scroll?

Every semester, thousands of new students—your prospective customers and clients—arrive on campus. Since Scroll acts as this group's primary source of information about the area, this is a great opportunity for your brand to engage with a growing, dynamic audience.

How do I measure my return on investment?

If you advertise in our print, we highly recommend using a coupon. This motivates readers to respond to your offer in a way you can directly track by how many coupons are brought in. (Remember to include an expiration date!)

It's estimated at least 10% of all newspaper readers use at least 1 coupon.

For digital ads, we recommend including a unique URL for your ad. This could be a specific landing page, or a link with UTM parameters. This allows you to track how many visits your page receives.

Our current average click-through-rate is 7-12%.

What typs of ads does Scroll offer?

Scroll offers a variety of ad formats. We offer advertising across our whole website, including banners on our home page and every article page. We also run a special edition print each semester, with 5,000 copies circulated on campus and in the community.

We offer month-to-month options, and can tailor advertising packages to fit your goals and your budget. For more information, view our media kit.

What does Scroll's readership look like?

Scroll's website averages 15,000 - 25,000 monthly pageviews. Our Instagram has nearly 10,000 followers - more than any other Idaho or Utah university newspaper - and Instagram posts average 40,000 views in a month.
