Wednesday night’s event featured two Jazz Combos performing arrangements of classic jazz songs. Students and faculty performed jazz standards ranging from Frank Sinatra to Disney.

“It was so fun because I didn’t realize that jazz music had so much variety and dynamics,” said Marissa Gandola, an event attendee.

The final combo, Desi and the Boys, performed an arrangement of “Someday My Prince Will Come” from Snow White and concluded the event with an exciting response from the audience.

Aaron Miller, the director of Jazz Combos and facilitator of the event, announced upcoming jazz events that will be held on campus. The Jeff Hamilton Trio and BYU-Idaho’s premier jazz ensemble, Sound Alliance, will be performing at the Annual Jazz Festival on February 25th at 7:30 p.m.

The event will be held in the BYU-Idaho Center. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for the general public and can be bought online or at the door.
