Rexburg mother Emmilia Hammond passed away in her home on Wednesday, April 4, only five months after the death of her husband, BYU-Idaho English teacher Darin Hammond. 

According to Idaho State Journal, the teacher’s body was found by a hunter in his pickup truck near Moody in November 2017, and police ruled out foul play. Emmilia Hammond’s death is still under investigation, according to East Idaho News.

According to, a “Help the Hammonds” fundraiser, started by a family friend, has over half of the $10,000 goal to support the couple’s four children, ages 11, 12, 15 and 18.
