Less than 100 Brigham Young University-Idaho student’s accounts were compromised on Jan. 13. University officials quickly got in touch with the affected students in order to change their passwords.
A Rexburg Police report released on Jan. 15 said, “This is an event where we were contacted by BYU Idaho Public Safety to report that some of their students credentials have been compromised. The compromise is being investigated at this time.”
BYU-Idaho media relations manager Brett Crandall said, “The university takes these matters very seriously and is looking into the situation.”
