Students at Brigham Young University–Idaho are preparing to showcase a world of talent at this semester’s Cultural Night on March 14.
The event features student performers representing cultures from around the world. Every semester, students audition for a chance to perform. Selected acts spend weeks preparing choreography, music and costumes.
The night highlights the diversity of the BYUI student body. Performers share traditions from home with their fellow BYUI students and Rexburg community members in the audience.

One of this year's performers is Sherclemn Alipoyo, a psychology major with an industrial-organizational emphasis who currently leads the Filipino dance group. Alipoyo has been performing in Cultural Night since Winter 2024 and says the event is about more than just the performance.
“The most exciting thing about Cultural Night is how the community comes together,” Alipoyo said. “We do our best representing where we are from, and we love seeing people have fun with our performance and our music.”
Attendees can expect everything from traditional dances and costumes to unique musical performances that highlight the different cultures represented on campus. Cultural Night is not just about entertainment; it’s a chance for students and the community to learn, celebrate and embrace diversity.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for community members and can be purchased online.
“People should come because it’s a unique night that constantly changes every time,” Alipoyo said. “There is still so much of our cultures we want to share and give you an experience you don’t often see. I guarantee the best night this semester.”
