The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced changes to Sunday meeting schedules, which will be implemented worldwide on September 6, 2026.
According to a news release published by the church newsroom, the updated schedule will replace the Church’s current alternating schedule for Sunday school and quorum or class meetings with a consistent weekly structure.
Under the new direction, Sunday School, Relief Society, Elders quorum, Young Women and Aaronic Priesthood quorum meetings will be held every Sunday.
Sacrament meetings will continue to last 60 minutes and remain the central focus of Sabbath worship.

Following sacrament meeting, congregations will have brief transition periods before attending classes. Sunday School and quorum or class meetings will each be shortened to 25 minutes.
Primary will continue to meet every Sunday for 55 minutes and will be held at the same time as adult and youth classes.
In a letter to Church leaders worldwide, the First Presidency encouraged leaders to seek spiritual guidance as they implement the changes, emphasizing the importance of creating meaningful Sabbath worship experiences centered on Jesus Christ.
"I am inspired by the new changes to our Sunday worship service," said Jeff Dahlke, bishop of the 66th Rexburg YSA ward. "I believe it will bless the lives of all who seek to understand and see God's hands in His work."
