On June 12, Elder Quentin L. Cook, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will address BYU-Idaho in a Tuesday devotional.
Elder Cook was born in Logan, Utah on Sep. 8, 1940. He married Mary Gaddie on Nov. 30, 1962. They are parents of three children.
He was sustained as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve on Oct. 6, 2007. Before that calling, he served as a member of the Quorum of the Seventy since April 1996.
According to lds.org, Elder Cook “previously served in the Area Presidency in the Philippines, as president of the Pacific Islands and the North America Northwest Areas, and as Executive Director of the Missionary Department.”
Elder Cook went to Utah State University to receive a bachelor’s degree in political science. He later received a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Stanford University.
