Neil L. Andersen warned us of the evils of the world.
“We might remind the sincere inquirer that the internet information does not have a ‘truth” filter,'” Elder Andersen said.
He said it is understandable to question the sources of the world, but we never have to question the testimony of God’s prophets.
“We do not discard something we know to be true because of something we do not yet understand,” he said.
Elder Andersen said we can’t understand the importance of Joseph Smith’s work with mere intellectual consideration.
“Spiritual questions deserve spiritual answers from God,” he said.
Elder Andersen compared securing our own oxygen masks on an airplane before helping others with their masks to our faith.
“You won’t be of much help to others if your own faith is not securely in place,” he said.
He encouraged the youth to gain a personal witness of the Prophet Joseph Smith.
Andersen said there are two sure ways to gain a testimony of the Joseph Smith.
“First, find scriptures in the Book of Mormon that you feel and know are absolutely true… Next, read the testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith in the Pearl of Great Price.” Andersen said.
