Fire alarms sounded in the Manwaring Center just before 6 p.m.

The alarms were set off by smoke from an opened oven, according to the Madison Fire Department Fire Chief, Corey Child.

Flashing lights and an automated warning prompted students to exit the building.

One fire truck was on the scene.

The alarm system worked properly, and everyone was able to exit the building, according to Child.
