Oct. 27, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a letter encouraging members to help the refugees around the world.

The First Presidency thanked members of the Church for assisting in refugee efforts across the world.

“Many Church members have inquired how they can provide additional assistance,” according to the letter on lds.org. “Members may contribute to the Church Humanitarian Fund using the Tithing and Other Offerings donations slip. We also invite Church units, families and individuals to participate in local refugee relief projects, where practical.”

Like the early pioneers in the LDS faith, refugees are searching for a better life, and the Church cares for the refugees, according to “Help the Refugees among Us,” an article from Church News.

LDS Charities, a company dedicated to help humanitarian needs worldwide, released an update saying it has responded to the European refugee crisis.

LDS Charities will partner with five organizations in order to help its emergency response for refugees, according to the update.

“May the Lord bless you as you render Christlike service to those in need,” according to the First Presidency letter.
