Photo by Natalia Zurita — There are currently 11 RecSports leagues and 11 Competitive Sports leagues available to join during Spring semester. Some sports, such as women’s fastpitch softball, are only offered during the spring semester.
Each semester, BYU-Idaho students participate in RecSports and Competitive Sports events with the help of www.imleagues.com.
IMLeagues is the website used to organize all intramural sports. In order to participate on a sports team students must first create an IMLeagues account.
Creating an account is free with a BYU-I email address. Once an account is created students can make player profiles and can organize and join various sports teams with friends and roommates.
RecSports teams can be created by any student, while Competitive Sports hold tryouts and drafts in order to create teams.
There are five tabs displayed at the top of the page after logging into an account: “Home,” “Player Card,” “Networks,” “Top Performers” and “Videos.”
The “Home” tab displays current teams and a list of coming games.
The “Player Card” tab shows a cumulative record of all past and present sports participated in by the student.
When the “Network” tab is highlighted a “BYU-Idaho” tab will appear. When the “BYU-Idaho” tab is selected a list of RecSports will be displayed under the sub-tab “Intermural.” Competitive Sports teams are viewed by clicking the sub-tab “Club.”
Teams are created by selecting a sport and division under the “Intermural” or “club” sub-tabs and clicking on “Create Team.”
Joining an existing team is accomplished by selecting a team name and clicking “Join Team.” Students must await approval from the team captain in order to join.
Each sport and division has a free-agent list for students who want to play but don’t have a team.
Competitive sports teams are created by league coordinators and coaches.
Throughout the semester, students can check the website for scores, personal and team statistics and dates.
