Among the many sports that BYU-Idaho offers as an intramural, only one features cleats, a leather ball and helmets that crack at the sound of bashing against each other — football.

There are two intramural football games happening this Saturday.

The Vikings will face the Spartans at 1 p.m., followed by the Bruins versus the Hurricanes at 3:30 p.m., both at the BYU-Idaho Stadium.

Zack Miller, who plays wide receiver and corner for the Vikings, shared what the team has been doing to prepare for the game.

“We have been doing a lot of conditioning stuff, like running all over the place," said Miller. "We’re trying to get faster and break away from our defenders.”

He shared that the team was trying to get some good rest and stay healthy for the upcoming game.

“We do have a couple of injuries on our team, so it’s been unfortunate not to have some of the guys out there, but we’re excited to play football,” Miller said.

According to Miller, the football games this Saturday are a "good atmosphere" and an opportunity to enjoy a sporting event with friends.

The games are free to attend.
