Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is gearing up for its second annual “Ski in Jeans” weekend, aiming to break last year’s world record of 3,114 denim-clad participants. The event is set for Saturday, Dec. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Participants must walk through the black arch outside Café 6311 in the village during the event hours to be officially counted as a participant.
Attendees can enhance their denim style at Ripton’s patch ironing booth or purchase limited-edition "Ski in Jeans" merchandise from Buff and Midnight Lunch.

Brianna Capote, a BYU-Idaho student and snowboard enthusiast is excited for the opportunity to participate with other athletes at this unique event.
“A big group of my friends and I are going to be snowboarding and skiing all day,” said Capote. “It is such a good deal to get into the resort for that cheap. I am so glad that we were able to buy tickets.”

Lift tickets for the event are $25 with a discounted three-day pass available for $199 covering Dec. 6 through Dec. 8. Anyone wearing denim on Dec. 7 can receive 50% off gear rentals at JH Sports and Teton Village Sports.
Tickets should be purchased in advance. Ikon and Mountain Collective pass holders are also encouraged to reserve their spots early.
“I attended the event, and wore a set of cheap jeans that could fit over my very warm and comfortable bibs,” said Matt Lorelli in the Powder Magazine. “While I 'chickened-out' per se, there were countless skiers and snowboarders simply wearing their regular ol' jeans with a layer or two underneath. Legs got wet and feet got cold, but it seemed like everybody was having too much fun to notice.”

After a fun day on the slopes, festivities in the village will include a mechanical bull, special giveaways and more.
