Scroll is inviting Brigham Young University-Idaho students to share their perspectives in an upcoming episode of Viking Voices.
The student discussion series, which focuses on respectful conversations surrounding political, cultural and popular issues, is preparing its next episode around the question, "Are dating apps changing long-term relationships for better or for worse?"
With platforms such as Mutual, Hinge and Tinder becoming increasingly common among college students and young adults, the topic is a matter of debate about the role technology plays in building meaningful relationships. Some argue that dating apps create opportunities to meet people who may have otherwise never crossed paths. Others believe they have altered expectations surrounding commitment and dating culture.
Viking Voices aims to provide a forum where students can discuss these issues openly while modeling civil discourse. The series encourages participants to engage with differing viewpoints and demonstrate that productive conversations can take place even when people disagree.
The upcoming discussion follows the first Viking Voices episode, "Two BYU-Idaho Students Exchange Ideas on Immigration," released in March. Producers hope to expand the conversation by including a broader range of student voices and experiences in future episodes.
Students interested in participating in the discussion on dating apps are encouraged to sign up through the Google Form linked below. Participants need only a willingness to share their perspectives and engage respectfully with fellow students.
Students who would like to participate in the next episode are encouraged to complete the Google Form to be considered for the discussion.

This was such a fun experience. I was so glad to have the chance to converse with a different minded, fellow student. Nearly any student should consider participating in a fun conversation that doesn’t have to be political.
