The small airplane that disappeared in central Idaho Dec. 1 was found Jan. 10, according to the Deseret News. All five of the passengers aboard, including Jonathon Norton and Amber Smith, an engaged cole from BYU-Idaho, were found dead.
The others aboard the plane were Dale Smith, who is the father of Amber Smith; Amber’s brother, Daniel Smith, and his wife Sheree Smith.
Hundreds of people were involved in the search effort, analyzing satellite images online. These volunteers looked closely at the terrain, checking for anything that appeared to be a crash site.
The official search for the missing plane ended in mid-December. The private search, however, continued until the wreckage of the small plane was found.
