One person was killed and another is wounded after a shooting occurred at the Mount Zion High School graduation ceremony in Jonesboro, Georgia.

The Clayton County school safety chief, Thomas Trawick, said the incident happened after an argument broke out as people were heading to their cars after the ceremony, according to USA Today. Police officials have not provided any information regarding the suspect.

ABC News reported that neither of the victims was students and that the deceased victim was shot multiple times in the chest and the other victim was shot in the leg.

This shooting took place just hours after a mass school shooting near Houston, Texas that left 10 dead and another 10 injured. This is the 23rd gun-related incident on school grounds that have killed or injured someone this year, according to The Independent.
