A new act is coming to town. World-renowned pop-rock band OneRepublic will perform in the BYU-Idaho Center Friday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m.

The Grammy-nominated band has played concerts all over the world and has over 44 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Before embarking on tours in China and Europe starting in April, the band will bring its talents to Rexburg.

BYUI social media first announced the concert in January. Junior and illustration major Rachel Hinckley said she first found out about it through a friend.

“She texted me and she’s like, ‘If I buy you tickets will you go?’ and I’m like, ‘Duh,’” Hinckley said.

Hinckley said growing up, she loved their song "Good Life," and is excited to hear them play that at the concert.

“They’re a band that I grew up listening to,” said junior and civil engineering major Isabelle Rogers. “They’re really popular on the radio, so I’m super excited because it’s going to be really nostalgic for me to listen to them again and see them in concert.”

Rogers is going to the concert and said she was “super excited” about it due to her nostalgic feelings of OneRepublic.

“I was ready to get tickets because there have been a couple concerts in the past where I was like, ‘Oh this would be cool’ but I’m not a huge fan [and] I don’t listen to them too much,” Rogers said. “But this one, I was actually really excited.”

Rogers is looking forward to hearing OneRepublic playing songs like "Counting Stars," "Apologize" and "I Ain't Worried" from "Top Gun: Maverick" live at the BYU-Idaho Center.

Tickets are still available in limited quantity. For more information and tickets, visit the ticket office website.
