On Wednesday night, multiple car thefts and burglaries occured overnight, according to the Rexburg Police Department.
The Rexburg Police Department said some vehicles, left unlocked with keys inside, were stolen to drive to new areas and continue the theft spree.
Police identified a suspect and posted photos, taken from surveillance footage in the Brigham Young University- Idaho John W. Hart building, on Facebook with a warning for residents to lock their doors and keep an eye out for possible suspects.
Police said many victims were in disbelief that someone would steal from them in Rexburg.

“The problem is that there are criminals who know exactly what our city's reputation is, and they will travel to our town to find easy victims,” the police wrote in a post to their Facebook page.
They said basic safety measures, such as locking doors, are usually enough to deter criminals looking for quick and accessible valuables.
The police also warned that there could still be more victims of theft and burglary that may not have noticed initially.
"If you notice your vehicle missing, broken into, or things missing, immediately report this so we can investigate it," the Rexburg police wrote. "Please don't go through everything and drive it around or wait hours to report it, otherwise there is very little evidence which can be gathered."
One resident, Adam Zimmer, responded to the post and said he had seen the suspect earlier in the month.
“I saw him at Walmart about a month ago. Him and another guy were lot lizarding,” Zimmer wrote.
The Rexburg Police Department said they cannot release any further details at this time, as this is an ongoing investigation.
