The Spori Art Gallery reopened with the exhibition, "A Quiet so Absolute."

Darren Clark, the exhibition's artist, explained that the gallery’s production is inspired by Robert Adams' reflection on “a quiet so absolute.” The gallery consists of photography of open environments. These include prairies, snow-covered fields, quiet oceans and the concept of minimalism.

Clark gave some introspection on his reasons for landscape photography.

“These are designed to be quiet and hopeful and contemplative, Clark explained. "The idea was just these vast spaces that allowed for quiet contemplation."

The gallery is filled with over 30 photos, each telling a story to encourage contemplation.

BYU-Idaho senior and photography major John Davidson also expanded on his appreciation for the exhibit.

“Normally when you take a photo, it's lots of motion," Davidson said. "And then he made it still, and you can see the stillness, progressing through a lot of his photos, so being able to see the artistic capability that he had to take those photos is just really amazing.”

The exhibit is open from May 1 to June 11 in the Jacob Spori Building. Open hours run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission is free for all.
